Individual instruction will be tailored to each students level of proficiency and will include work on technique, interpretation and music fundamentals. These lessons will assist each student in realizing his/her vocal potential through instruction in healthy vocal technique. They will also encompass work in developing dynamics, phrasing, breath control, and musicianship skills.
Vocal coachings include work on fundamentals of good musicianship such as pitch, rhythm, phrasing, legato line. Also important, diction and text communication. Discussion of musical styles, operatic role preparation, classic Broadway, and healthy vocal technique.
Vocal Repertoire Class
Through the use of both popular and classical music, the students will develop stronger communication and musicianship skills. Along with ensemble singing, there will be use of theatre games to help further develop their self-confidence as performers.
Open to all festival participants and community members. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday of Festival Week, and a dress rehearsal with instruments. The Festival Choral Concert will be held on Saturday evening August 6.
Student prepares pieces in mixed ensemble with voice, violin, guitar, to be performed in student concert at end of week. Coaching by one of the faculty members.
All fees are in Canadian Dollars.
The deadline to apply is June 1, 2017. Tuition: $900.00 (CA) with lodging, $600.00 (CA) without lodging. A non-refundable deposit of $300.00 (CA) is due by May 15, 2017. Balance is due July 1.
Tuition for all programs may be paid through the mail or via PayPal using a PayPal account or a VISA, Master Card, Discover or American Express debit or credit card. Registration through PayPal will be available soon.

Applicants must follow the procedure outlined below. Please note that you must submit a successful recorded audition to be accepted to the Vocal program.
Recorded audition: For applicants to the Voice and Opera Program. Please submit an electronic recording of 3 songs or arias no longer than 12 minutes in length to firstname.lastname@example.org. The following song/aria requirements should be in contrasting styles. Recordings can also be youtube videos.
One Italian or German art song or aria
One French art song or aria
One song in English (not a translation)
You will be notified of your audition results by March 15th for those submitting recordings before March 15th and by April 15th for recordings submitted between March 15 and April 15.
