Our Vocal Studio Artist Program brings together students from throughout the U.S., Canada and beyond. Participants are mentored and coached, performing in an idyllic setting in the Eastern Townships region of Quebec, Canada.
Note: Singers participating in the Vocal program should arrive on July 27 and depart on August 7, 2022.

About the Songe d'ete en musique Vocal Studio:
A 10-day intensive professionally focused program that seeks to blend high caliber mentoring for the young singer with extensive performance opportunities. Approximately 15 singers will be chosen.
Past singers are now performing at the Metropolitan Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Arizona Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Wolftrap Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Chautauqua Opera. Students have graduated from: The Eastman School of Music, Binghamton University, The Juilliard School, Carnegie Mellon University, Ithaca College, Arizona St University, The New England Conservatory of Music, Texas Tech University, Stetson University, Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and Manhattan School of Music. They have won awards and top prizes from the Metropolitan Opera, The National Association of Teachers of Singing, The Girda Lisner Foundation, The Italo Tajo Award from CCM, Lois Alba Aria Competition, Metropolitan International Voice Competition and The New Jersey Verismo Opera Competition.

Vocal Coaching
Detailed work on Vocal Technique and coaching of concert repertoire. Including diction and text communication, character analysis, body work, discussion of operatic role preparation, musical styles, and healthy vocal technique.
Vocal Repertoire Class
Performance-based class in opera and classical music. Participants will develop communication and enhanced performance skills.
Chamber Ensembles
Coached by one of the Festival Artists, participants will prepare pieces in mixed ensemble with voice, violin, guitar, to be performed in a public concert at the end of Festival Week.
Master Classes
A series of Master Classes in Voice with Festival Artists. These master classes will be a concentrated public coaching for singers who participate. Each performer will get a thirty (30) minute time slot. The classes will be interactive with the auditors and performer. The interactive format will help those auditors who may not be familiar with singing.
Festival Chorus
Open to all festival participants and community members. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday of Festival Week, with a dress rehearsal with instruments scheduled for Saturday afternoon. The Festival Choral Concert will be held Saturday evening August 6.
All workshops, classes and rehearsals are open to be observed or audited by the general public.
The deadline to apply is May 30, 2024.
Note: you must submit an application and a successful recorded audition to be accepted into the Vocal Program or the Songe d'été en musique Vocal Studio.

All fees are in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
Registration fee: $1050.00 CAD with lodging. A non-refundable deposit of $300.00 CAD is due upon acceptance. Balance is due June 15.
